Reverend Dr. Glenn Courtney

Senior Pastor

Reverend Dr. Glenn M. Courtney has made a significant impact as the assistant pastor at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Westbury, New York. His journey in ministry began with a transformative internship at the esteemed Timothy Baptist Church, located in the vibrant neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Under the guidance of the respected Reverend Dr. Odell Davis, the dedicated Pastor of Timothy Baptist Church, Rev. Courtney not only completed his internship for Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York, but also received the distinguished honor of ordination.
 

He later embraced a divine calling that led him to become the 33rd pastor of the historic First Baptist Church of Ossining, New York, a congregation with a rich legacy dating back to 1790. His selection was the culmination of a meticulous and comprehensive search for a new spiritual leader, reflecting the congregation's desire for guidance and inspiration. 
 

Rev. Courtney possesses a diverse range of academic credentials. He holds a Doctor of Sacred Theology from the United Christian College and Bible Institute, as well as a Master of Divinity and a Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Alliance Theological Seminary. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the College of New Rochelle/School of New Resources. Notably, during his first year at New York Theological Seminary, he was honored with the Edmund E. Martin Award for Academic Excellence in Theological Studies, distinguishing himself among a cohort of five hundred students.
 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Rev. Courtney shares a loving partnership with his wife, Rose, with whom he has celebrated 36 years of marriage. Together, they are proud parents of an adult daughter, which reinforces their commitment to family values and the community.
